After F1 was rocked by the tragic events at Immola (mass floods), Emilia Romagna Grand Prix, the Canadian Grand Prix has been given the approval to still go ahead by the powers that be at F1.
The Canadian Grand Prix is “not at risk” they said, despite wildfires causing air-quality issues across much of North America. As a result of the air quality, many have been instructed to wear an N95 mask.
Quebec, the province in which the Montreal race will be held next weekend, is the origin of much of the smoke. F1 have said, “The risk remains low and the air quality is good in Montreal.”
F1 said it had been “assured the situation in Montreal is different to other parts of the country and the US”.
The sport’s bosses have no concerns about going to Canada or for the event itself at this stage, but F1 will keep the situation under review in the coming days.
