Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed the appointment of Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou as their manager on a two-year deal. The Australian coach who came to the SPL, as a relative unknown to many, leaves Scotland with his reputation at an all-time high.

Postecoglou’s Celtic beat Livingston 3-1 to complete yet another domestic treble. Former Australian national team coach Postecoglou in his time at Celtic Park won five of the six trophies on offer.

This is quite some achievement, even more, considering how convincingly Rangers had won the league three seasons ago. With exciting, high-press attacking football, Glasgow Celtic not only regained their status as the best side in Scotland, but gained a reputation for being fearless and hard to beat.

Celtic didn’t get past the group stage, but they did give a good account of themselves in this year’s Champions League. I mention all of this because if backed and fully supported, Ange Postecoglou will do a good job at Tottenham Hotspur.

They’re an expectant bunch on the white side of North London, for a club of their size, the fans have not had the success that they have desired. With the appointment of the former Celtic boss chairman Daniel Levy thinks the 57-year-old is the answer to his prayers.

Tottenham passed up the chance to hire Mauricio Pochettino and Julian Nagelsmann for Ange Postecoglou. He’s good, but is he that good? Will he make the jump from SPL to Premier League?

Well his predecessor Brendan Rodgers largely did a good job at Leicester City, so Spurs fans you should be optimistic. Postecoglou will have to start with a rebuild of this Tottenham side.

Both Harry Kane and Hugo Lloris reportedly want to leave. Both men, have been crucial to The Lillywhites over the years and will not be easy to replace. If history is anything to go by, Celtic should brace themselves for bids of their best players, Kyogo, I mean you.

Best of luck Ange and well done Daniel Levy. A job well done to Levy for being able to bring in a good manager so quickly and the season barely being over, for Celtic at least anyway.

On Saturday his Celtic side won the treble and he became one of five Celtic managers to achieve the feat, then 48 hours or so later he was named Tottenham boss.

Life can come at you fast, let’s hope not too fast. Reports have suggested that Tottenham’s new manager will have limited funds to spend on new players. If this is the case then, O Daniel, you will never learn!
You did this with Poch, Jose and now a man who barely got in the door!
