Manchester City striker Erling Haaland broke another record last night, as Manchester City reclaimed top spot with a comfortable 3-0 win over West Ham United. Haaland scored his 35th goal in an amazing debut season that has seen many individual records obliterated.
The previous record of 34 goals in a season was shared by Andrew Cole and Premier League record goal scorer Allan Shearer. As impressive as the achievement is to break the season goal-scoring record in your debut season after the Qatar World Cup Erling Haaland’s goal slowed.
Even with that still being the case, the Erling Haaland of 12 months ago and the Erling Haaland of now, one can see something close to a complete forward.
Pep has said on occasions, that his City side will need to cater for Haaland, which to a large point they have. Joao Cancelo has been loaned and appears surplus to requirements as a result of the Norwegian’s arrival.
Former Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland is assisting his teammates too. In the big top-of-the-table clash against Arsenal, he got his goal, but he also laid on two assists, both to Kevin De Bruyne.
That goes to show just how good of an understanding he’s developing with Manchester City’s playmaker. It looks ominous for the rest of the Premier League, it does.
The only way City can be stopped is if Erling Haaland is tempted for pastures new.
