The jitters?

For the second week in a row, Arsenal were pegged back to 2-2 after leading 2-0. First, they threw away the lead to Liverpool last week to draw with Jurgen Klopp’s men and now West Ham United.

The Hammers were well worth their point, and are starting to come good in the past few weeks after a difficult season, where they were dragged into the relegation zone.

Although not fully safe, both they and Bournemouth have been able to create some form of cushion from the sides below them. Back to matters at the top of the table and Arsenal will see this as two points dropped.

On the flip side, it could be a point gained as David Moyes’ rallied after going 2-0 and seeing Bukayo Saka miss his penalty, which would have made it 3-1 at the time.

Such is football however because Jared Bowen would score two minutes later to send the London Stadium into raptures. What a costly miss that would prove to be for the Arsenal youngster, who has scored some big penalties this year for The Gunners.

With Manchester City having a better goal difference, to an extent it can be argued that they have a bonus point. As it stands City are now four points behind Arsenal with a game as opposed to six.

Will this make a difference? It appears to be seen. The North London side did go through a mini bad patch earlier in the season, only to go and bounce back in style.

Arsenal boss Mikael Arteta will be hoping for the same here. One thing is for certain, the mid-week clash between the two, has now become even more crucial, as if it wasn’t already an important game enough.
