World champions Tyson Fury and Oleksander Usyk have agreed in principle to a fight on 29th April at Wembley Stadium in a fight that will unify the world title belts.

The Ukrainian’s promoter appeared to pour cold water on an imminent fight between the two saying the fight was ‘unlikely to happen next’. Despite the claims of Usyk’s agent an agreement was made before Friday’s 22:00 GMT deadline.

Both sides have requested time to work on the contracts to close the deal. News agency Reuters have been told the proposed fight between Oleksander Usyk and Tyson Fury will see a 70/30 split in favour of British fighter Fury.

In an Instagram video, Usyk said he accepted such a split on the basis that The Gypsy King immediately donate £1m to the people of Ukraine, and also give up one percent of his purse to Ukraine for every day he delayed to agree.

Both men are undefeated in their careers. Oleksander Usyk WBO, WBA and IBF world champion has won 20 out of his 20 fights, with two of those wins coming against Fury’s fellow Brit Antony Joshua.

One of those wins was to take the Watford man’s titles and the second was a rematch win, which meant the 36-year-old Usyk retained his titles. The 34-year-old Fury who’s a WBC world champion also is unbeaten in his career in 34 fights boasts a record of 33 wins and a draw.

Both men aren’t averse to playing up to the media. Boxing fans, will be hoping there will be plenty of entertainment in the ring, but out of the ring with these two men, it’s guaranteed, isn’t it?
