Two goals from Erling Haaland and one from Rodri, helped champions Manchester win 3-1 against Leeds, where Haaland was born. As a result of his latest goal scoring exploits, Haaland has become the fastest player to score 20 goals in the competition history.

The Norwegian and his teammates were frustrated for large periods until Rodri scored on the stroke of half-time.

It was threatening to be a rare blank for Erling Haaland as the former Dortmund man missed two chances. From the Manchester City perspective, that thankfully wasn’t the case as the 22-year-old did get his name on the scoresheet twice.

Out of the respect for Leeds United Haaland clearly has for the club, he refused to celebrate both goals.

Leeds did pull a goal back through Pascal Struijk, but that proved too little too late. After this defeat, Leeds United drop a place to 15th, and champions Man City close the gap on leaders Arsenal to five points.
