Hello, good morning sports fans, I hope you’re well, looking after yourselves and are in good health. We need to talk about sports and in particular football. To be more specific than that, I want to talk about Chelsea.
The Blues have got a new manager in the form of Brighton’s Graham Potter, the news of the agreement and our thoughts are here; https://the-sports-buff.com/2022/09/10/graham-potter-named-chelsea-boss/.
But what I want to talk about is Chelsea’s signings, their strikers. On our sister site I talk about that here; http://ayyazmalik.com/2021/01/13/stamford-bridge-the-grave-yard-for-strikers/.
As factual as Chelsea strikers struggling at Stamford Bridge and Didier Drogba being arguably the only striker in the modern era to succeed, I want to talk about their obsession with Arsenal strikers.
#Football fans, I am not going to turn round and say Drogba was on the books of Arsenal once upon a time, but what I am going to say is that Olivier Giroud, Nicholas Anelka and of course Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang, the summer transfer window capture form Barcelona have played for Arsenal and wound up in West London with Chelsea.
The Gabonese player who even had a tattoo of North London rivals Arsenal was excited about the move to Stamford Bridge, so he could work with Thomas Tuchel, but that lasted 56 minutes.
Maybe some bragging rights for Arsenal fans, rightly or wrongly they can say that Chelsea are signing their cast-offs. Just waiting for the news that Todd Boehly plans to sign Eddie Nketiah or Follarin Balogun.
This is the same Todd Boehly who (reportedly) thought Thomas Tuchel should field a 4-4-3 formation.
