Panic stations?

Hello, good morning sports fans, it’s been a few days since we have had a chat and for that, I truly apologise. I pray you’re well, looking after yourselves and are in good health.

We need to talk sports fans, about football and in particular West Ham United. The Hammers who under David Moyes have finished sixth and seventh in the Scot’s two seasons in the helm have earnt many plaudits for his side’s achievements.

The start of this season however has been a desperate start to the campaign as the East London side went down 2-0 to Brighton at the London stadium. Yesterday’s (21/8) loss, means that West Ham have lost their first three games, conceded five and not scored a goal in the Premier League.

A bit worrying it can be argued as they have signed Gianluca Samacca amongst other players, in what has been a busy summer of incomings for David Moyes and his side.

The Premier League table, of course, doesn’t lie, but unlike Manchester United for example I feel there is cause for optimism. On Sunday, yes West Ham were arguably not at their usual standards, but visiting keeper Robert Sanchez did have some saves to make.

Why do I mention this? It needed to be mentioned as David Moyes’ side did contribute to the game, they weren’t dead and buried like Man United were against Brentford.

Football fans, some respect is needed on Brighton’s name as well as their manager too. Graham Potter for at least the last four seasons has been getting better and better as a manager.

The Seagulls, under his guidance, did beat Liverpool at Anfield too and of course, on the first first day of the season, they beat the aforementioned Manchester United.

Naturally, the longer they go on this winless run, people will call for David Moyes’ head. It’s silly I know, but it’s the fickle world of football we live in. West Ham sacked Moyes, who did they get to replace the former Everton manager? That’s right, David Moyes!

West Ham lost to Manchester City, like so many will before then but they were so unlucky to lose against Nottingham Forest, they hit the woodwork several times and had a penalty saved, they did everything but score. Hammers fans, give the man and his team some time, I know how some fans work.

The mighty West Ham will be in the European places, come back to this article at the end of the season, when I am right.
