Manchester City and Argentina legend Sergio Agüero will be leaving City at the end of the season it has been announced.
City confirmed their record goal scorer Agùero , who signed for The Blues in 2011 from Atletico Madrid, has scored 257 goals in 384 games for the club, will be seeking pastures new.
The decision seemed inevitable, but to hear the club announce the departure of the Argentine is still a shock. With the injuries mounting up for the former Atletico man, maybe a new start is best for all parties.
Sergio Agüero’s departure means that only Gabriel Jesus is the club’s only senior centre forward at the club.
Argentine Agüero leaves Manchester City as the Premier Leagues fourth all time Premier League goal scorer.
Only Shearer (260), Wayne Rooney (208) and Andy Cole (187) have scored more than Sergio Aguerro. In honour of his memory, Manchester City have confirmed that there will be a statue outside the Etihad Stadium.
Erling Haaland, Harry Kane and Romelu Lukaku are just some of the players linked with Manchester City. Whoever City sign, they know they will have big boots to fill.
Aguerro despite being small in size, has become a giant in stature.
