Europa League winners Aston Villa are on the verge of completing the signing of Chelsea striker Nicholas Jackson. Senegalese striker Jackson, formerly of Villarreal, will join the Midlands side after they deal with the loss of their star striker Ollie Watkins, who appears set to join Al-Hilal.
Nicholas Jackson was on loan at German champions Bayern Munich last term, but the Bundesliga champions opted in making the deal permanent. At £65 million, some can argue that The Villains have overpaid, especially with Nottingham Forest paying £50 million for Liam Delap.
The Senegalese striker will bring physicality and good link-up play to the Villa front line. As good as Ollie Watkins has been for Aston Villa, Nicholas Jackson, at 26, can add youth to the front line.
This has been a theme across the Villa squad this summer transfer window.
