Chelsea, in only Chelsea’s way they know how, have had a very busy summer. In the past couple of days, The Blues have completed the signings of veteran pair Danny Welbeck and Jordan Henderson, much to the surprise of many.
Another signing has been that of Argentine youngster Valentin Barco, the 22-year-old who was in La Albiceleste’s World Cup squad. Some might also know him from the viral video of when former manager Liam Rosenior gave him four days off after the news came of the birth of his child.
What isn’t as well known, but football fans should not be surprised, Barco was on the books of Brighton. The youngster joined Brighton from Boca Juniors, then joined the French side, initially on loan, and then a permanent deal straight after.
This deal sees another deal between the two sides where Chelsea are buying Brighton’s talent, more than the other way round.
In life, there are things that are guaranteed: death, taxes and a transfer window where Chelsea have bought Brighton players to Stamford Bridge.
