Hello, good evening, sports fans. I hope you’re well and in good health and looking after yourselves. As I am sure you know and are aware, Real Madrid forward Vini Junior has 12 months to run on his current deal and, as it stands, will leave the club for free.

This news has put many clubs on alert; the latest club, Premier League champions Arsenal, are reportedly putting a move together. It won’t be easy; the transfer fee talked about, £137 million, is extortionate in every sense of the word.

On top of that, reported wages for the 26-year-old will be in the region of £500,000 after tax. With numbers like that, The Gunners will be smart to walk away and look at other targets, maybe PSG’s Bradley Barcola?

After the initial craziness in the window and the value of players, this has led the Frenchman Barcola to be grossly overvalued. The reported figure quoted for him is £145 million; yes, you read that right.

Despite its craziness, this window has shown that value can be had, so with that in mind, what about Marcus Rashford or Jadon Sancho? Pardon the pun, a bit left-field *err herm*, I know, but arguably you won’t stand to lose anything.

Football is an FFP world, and that does have a say. Especially in the case of Manchester United winger Rashford, he showed at Spanish champions Barcelona that he has plenty to offer.

In the case of Sancho, he might have more to offer over time than what Matinelli has. Yes, I said what I said, no backsies. Another name and he’s someone I think they should sign: Athletic Bilbao’s Nico Williams.

I know the Spaniard’s were wanting a big fee for him, but he’s so much more worth it than Vini Junior. The striker did have a good World Cup with Brazil. With the signing of the Bilbao winger, this would be a smart deal; that’s where the smart money should go.

As good as he is, signing the Brazilian will disrupt team harmony on different levels.
