I have been a football fan for over 30 years, and in that time I have watched a lot of football and have been blessed to harvest a lot of football knowledge. With that football knowledge, I have never known a football final to be so one-sided, but that’s exactly what the Spain and Argentina final was: a one-sided affair.

This game caught the attention of non-football fans too. Mainly due to La Roja supporting the plight of the Palestinian people and reportedly the Argentines not really doing so.

What also made the Spanish the darlings of the viewers was the fact that they wanted to play football and not cross-bridge the sport and have a dabble in rugby. The Six Nations is going on, but Argentina already have a rugby team, Enzo Fernández.

Chelsea’s Fernández did get sent off, but in reality, that wasn’t going to affect the result. La Albiceleste will surely be preparing for a new generation of talent.

Emi Martinez, Nicholas Otamendi and Lionel Messi at least have surely played their last World Cups.

A great win for football, heartfelt congratulations to Spain.
