French champions PSG won the French League title (Ligue1) for a record 14th time, with a 2-0 win over title rivals Lens. Luis Enrique’s side, who are into their second successive Champions League final, are also the the holders of that crown as well.
Reliant on youth, the Parisians are quite the side with star-studded talent like they once were. Players like Vitiniha, Dembele and Doue are sesnational, but they have become great, with the coaching of Enrique.
Just look at Ousmane Dembele, he’s a Ballon d’Or winner, but if arguably he was at Barcelona, he would never have got to such heights. Sure, this year he hasn’t got 30+ goals. But when on the pitch, he has most certainly been just as important.
Can they be stopped? Tottenham did claw back a draw against them, so never say never, but I argue this side were warming up their engine. You know, the way an old diesel engine does.
Last season, PSG reached dizzy heights; maintaining those heights is beyond human capacity. With the early-season cobwebs cleared, the Parisians look like they can dominate football home and abroad.
Paris Saint-Germain’s 2-0 win at Lens’ Stade Bollaert-Delelis saw them crowned champions of Ligue1 a record 14 times; only ST Etienne (10) is the only other side to have hit double figures in title wins.
