Hello, good evening, ladies and gents. As you know by now, my name is Ayyaz Malik, and I am a sports writer. I write about issues other than the goings-on in football, but today I want to talk about promotion-winning and Championship-winning manager Frank Lampard.

Former Chelsea midfielder Lampard was an icon and legend as a player, but as a manager, he hadn’t quite been able to translate his success until now. The former Derby boss has inspired Coventry City to promotion after a 25-year absence from the top flight.

In a nutshell, this is some achievement, but the danger is that after enjoying this success, the former Chelsea boss might look for pastures new, namely with Chelsea, who are again looking for another manager.

When Frank Lampard was at the helm, in both spells, he was in charge in difficult circumstances and struggled, to a point, but it was going to be hard to succeed, as we now know that any manager who takes the Stamford Bridge hotseat will almost fail.

Pochettino and Marseca are names that some might come to mind, but both did respectable jobs there. Such is the way the club is run; both men left the club without being able to fully implement their ideas.

As a football fan, it’s great to see a young manager in Frank Lampard getting his confidence back. Going to Chelsea or a club of this nature, who are impatient with their managers, might knock his confidence.

On that note, here’s to hoping that former Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior get his confidence back. We have seen it with Graham Potter, too; he looks like he has his mojo back.

In terms of Frank Lampard, he should forget that the Coventry owner sacked the popular Mark Robbins and appointed Frank Lampard, who appeared to be a manager who hasn’t lived up to his potential.

For now, Frank stay at Coventry and become a hero.
