When Chelsea appointed Liam Rosenior, it appeared the only man who couldn’t see this working out was Liam himself. The man comes across as a nice guy, sometimes maybe too nice?
Today, however, The Blues board, after barely three months, gave Rosenior the boot following a five-game losing streak that yielded zero goals. It was depressing. Again, Liam Rosenior had the will and desire to do well. As good as those traits are, the former Derby manager seemed overawed by the size of the job.
Players talking against the manager and appearing to be manoeuvring a move away from the club, although it isn’t uncommon, it’s not a good look for a man who, ever since he was given the job, was looking to silence the critics.
Just like they did under Roman, they will hire someone; he might enjoy some success, but then he will also get fired. This is a rinse-and-repeat method. If you were like me, you were naive to think this new regime would be different somehow.
