After all of the action that unfolded in the international break, the chaos returns as the Championship season comes close to an end in the most nerve-racking stage.

The second tier of English football began on Good Friday at the Riverside Stadium where Middlesbrough hosted promotion rivals Millwall.

The Lions were able to turn themselves around in the second half as a Josh Coburn brace gave the away side a valuable 2-1 victory.

Patson Daka bagged a brace at the King Power Stadium rescued Leicester City a point in a 2-2 draw against Preston North End.

Pelle Mattsson scored for both Norwich City and Portsmouth in a 1-1 draw as he broke the deadlock in the first half before helping the opponents equaliser in the 84th minute.

Oxford United and Hull City shared a point in a 1-1 draw which slightly helped for their relegation and play-off battle.

Roy Hodgson got off to a winning start as Bristol City’s new head coach as The Robins salvaged a 2-1 away win over Charlton Athletic.

Stoke City returned to winning ways with a 2-0 victory against Sheffield Wednesday in the push to finish in the top half of the table.

A six-goal thriller at Bramall Lane saw Swansea City come from 3-1 down to draw 3-3 with Sheffield United as the match witnessed six different scorers.

Queens Park Rangers held on to triumph 2-1 against Watford as they earned their third successive victory.

Todd Cantwell’s 69th minute goal was enough for Blackburn Rovers to defeat Birmingham City 1-0 in their bid to push themselves further away from the relegation zone.

Wrexham completed a must-need comeback in a 2-2 draw against West Brom, despite the result not being ideal for their battle in the top six.

Jack Rudoni proved to be the super substitute as his two goals guided Coventry City to three points in their 3-2 win which sees them very close to confirming promotion to the Premier League.

On to Easter Monday, it was a showdown between two relegation battlers which saw 10-man Portsmouth earn a point against oxford United in tense 2-2 draw.

Norwich City dented Millwall’s hopes of a place in the top two after coming from behind to win 2-1 to go three games unbeaten.

Derby County secured a comfortable 2-0 victory against Stoke City as The Rams remain just three points away from sixth position.

Nestory Irankunda cancelled out Matt Godden’s goal to give Watford a point at home against Charlton Athletic in a 1-1 draw.

Thierry Small was left frustrated to giving Queens Park Rangers an equaliser after scoring an own goal which led Preston North End to draw 1-1.

Ipswich Town moved to second place after coming from behind to beat Birmingham City 2-1 thanks to goals from Ben Johnson and Kasey McAteer.

Blackburn Rovers ended their game goalless with West Brom as both teams gained a point which didn’t really affect their battle for survival.

Sheffield Wednesday came so close to their second win of the season, but Leicester City levelled the game in the 84th minute through Jordan Ayew in what was a frustrating 1-1 draw for The Foxes.

Mark Sykes scored the only goal in Bristol City’s 1-0 win over Sheffield United as they claimed two consecutive victories for the first time since Boxing Day.

Three penalties were given and scored in Swansea City’s 2-2 draw against Middlesbrough as Kim Hellberg’s team go winless in five matches.

Hull City drew 0-0 against league leaders Coventry City in what was a fair result as The Tigers still try to secure a play-off spot.

Finally, on Tuesday night, Southampton thumped play-off rivals Wrexham 5-1 to enter the top six as The Saints are now unbeaten in 16 contests.
