The second tier of English football delivered some shocking results this week, putting more interest in certain ends of the Championship table.

The first piece of action happened on Tuesday night where Bristol City welcomed Wrexham to Ashton Gate Stadium.

Max Bird’s stunning 89th minute strike rescued a point for The Robins in a 2-2 draw with the Welsh team.

Terry Devlin earned an important brace in Portsmouth’s 3-1 away win against Charlton Athletic in their bid for survival.

On Friday night, late drama was produced as Yuki Ohashi scored a 95th minute winner for Blackburn Rovers to snatch three points from Preston North End in a 1-0 win.

Moving to Saturday, Ben Willmot started and finished the action at the bet365 stadium as his brace helped Stoke City draw 2-2 with Leicester City.

Coventry City remained at the top of the table after salvaging a 2-0 away victory against West Brom.

Zan Vipotnik scored the only goal in Swansea City’s 1-0 win against Bristol City as the Slovenian maintains his position as the league’s top scorer.

Queens Park Rangers returned to winning ways as they defeated Hull City 3-1 in their quest to try and push for a play-off place.

Portsmouth also secured a 3-1 triumph away from home against Millwall as they go six points clear from relegation.

Early goals from Carlos Vicente and Marvin Ducksch were enough for Birmingham City to claim three points in a 2-1 away win against Norwich City.

In an eight-goal thriller, Wrexham conquered Ipswich Town 5-3 as The Red Dragons move in the play-offs to sixth.

Middlesbrough could not find the back of the next as Oxford United survived a 0-0 draw at the Riverside Stadium.

Sonny Carey cancelled out Ross Stewart’s strike as Charlton Athletic shared a point with Southampton.

Watford broke their eight-game winless streak to defeat Derby County 2-0 thanks to an early goal from Luca Kjerrumgaard and a late finish from Mamadou Doumbia.

Finally, on Sunday, Sheffield succeeded in the Steel City derby and relegated Sheffield Wednesday, defeating their rivals 2-1.
