The Norwegian club Bodo/Glimt continue to shock the biggest clubs in European football. in European’s biggest club competition, as this time Inter Milan were on the receiving end of a devastating loss.

In the first leg of the Champions League play-off, for a spot in the last 16, the Italian giants went head-to-head with the mighty underdogs at the Aspmyra Stadion.

Inside 20 minutes of the match, Sondre Brunstad Fet broke the deadlock after an well-worked team goal.

10 minutes later, Pio Esposito equalised from six yards after turning his back away from goal whilst shooting at the same time.

Both teams were creating plenty of chances as it proved to be an equal game, but just past the hour mark, Jens Petter Hauge’s excellent strike regained the lead for Bodo/Glimt.

Moments after the joyous celebrations, Kjetil Knutsen’s side scored again in the 64th minute as Kasper Hogh would not miss in front of an open net.

Superlaget (The Super Team) managed to hold on to a 3-1 victory as next week they will head into the second leg with a two-goal advantage.

This is Glimt’s first run in the Champions League as previous seasons have only seen them progress in the qualifying round, but miss out in the group stage/league phase.

The Norwegian side have earned some unforgettable results in the competition, earning victories over Manchester City and Atletico Madrid, while salvaging draws to Borussia Dortmund, Tottenham Hotspur and Slavia Prague.

If the 109-year-old club can enter the last 16, it may be the greatest fairy tale run the Champions League has ever witnessed as they are without doubt the dark horses of the tournament this season.
