Before last season, the last time that Tottenham Hotspur won a trophy was in 2008, the League Cup. Since then, The Lilly Whites have, instead of going up in the football world, have gone down.
I would usually say arguably, but can you argue against this? Last season’s 17th was the consequence of going all out for winning the Europa League. Some fans, though, thought it was a good trade-off.
Just being one place above the drop for most teams is a disaster, but a team with a history as rich as Tottenham’s, can this really be deemed as acceptable? Last year was seen as a poor year in the League as Spurs finished fifth two seasons ago.
The Lillywhites did this by playing fearless football, handbrake off football. It was great for the neutral and the thrill seekers, but sometimes it’s ok to just let go and have fun right?
The thing was Tottenham’s fans were getting this a little bit in too much good supply. Understandably to a point, they almost start to resent this way of life. Expansive football, inverted wingers .. Just keep the commas inverted thanks!
When the Popular Ange Postecoglou was sacked and Brentford’s Thomas Frank wss hired, this was supposed to be something resembling a cross-breed. In danish manager Frank, he let’s his teams have play time, but also makes sure the shop is closed behind them.
Saturday’s 2-0 defeat to Manchester United, just seems like a prolonging of pain. One doesn’t become a bad manager over night, but the former Brondby manager, looks like he needs to be put of his misery.
