Xabi Alonso was sacked, and in terms of senior management, a rookie in the form of Alvaro Arbeloa takes over. Nothing to see here then. Well, to make the plot a little interesting, the former Liverpool full-back, Arbeloa, lost his first game to Abacete in the Copa Del Rey round of 16.
Some murmurs have quietened down; arguably, however, can life quieten down? A couple of professional 2-0 wins (at the time of writing) sees Los Blancos just a point behind their arch-rivals, Barcelona.
Levante, Monaco in the Champions League and third-placed Villareal in La Liga sees Real with an aggregate of 10-1. I am not sure if Xabi Alonso would have matched such a feat, but it still deserves to be commended.
Life at Real is never normal, well, if it is, it’s only for a short time. with Real Madrid unbeaten in three games, let’s go to overreaction theatre!
