After 14 months in charge of The Red Devils, it’s confirmed that Manchester United have parted ways with Ruben Amorim.
It seemed that a key factor of the decision was due to the 40-year-old’s refusal in adapting and evolving his 3-4-3 system.
It certainly was a surprise for United fans, considering that the team sit in sixth place in the Premier League and are just three points from a Champions League spot.
In his last seven games, the Portuguese manager picked up just two victories as his two recent results ended with 1-1 draws against Wolves and Leeds United.
Last season questioned if Amorim would stay in charge of Man Utd following their Europa League final loss to Tottenham Hotspur, as well as finishing 15th in the Premier League.
Comparing that to this season, it had been a lot more positive for the former Sporting Lisbon manager who picked up the Manager of the Month award for October.
While questions will surround Amorim in terms of his future, Darren Fletcher will take over as interim manager as United search for their replacement.
Including interims, Man Utd have had a total of 10 managers in the last 13 years since the Sir Alex Ferguson era.
