After the shocking exit of Enzo Maresca, The Blues are in search for a new man in charge to resurrect their current state.

Chelsea have only pulled off two wins in their last nine games in all competitions which was partly the reason due to Maresca parting ways.

The West London club sit in fifth place, three points away from a Champions League spot and three points away from 11th place.

After the Italian manager left, the odds are favouring one particular Englishman to take charge of the Club World Cup Champions.

Liam Rosenior is currently the manager of Ligue 1 side Strasbourg as they currently sit in seventh, while being the league leaders in the Europa Conference League.

The 41-year-old took over the French club in July 2024 and in his first season, gave Strasbourg European football for the first time since 2019.

Rosenior started off his coaching/managerial career at Derby County, becoming the interim manager after Wayne Rooney designed, originally being the assistant manager alongside the former Manchester United star.

In his short stint with the club, the former Brighton player won seven matches in 12 games as he put in a solid shift, until the appointment of Paul Warne saw Rosenior leave the club.

Three months later, the Wandsworth-born player and manager was acquired at Hull City, previously experiencing the club in his playing career.

Rosenior made an impact to the community and built the club back together, increasing attendances and pushing The Tigers out of a relegation battle to finish 15th in the 2022/23 Championship season.

In his first full season as a manager, Hull City just missed out on the play-offs by three points, despite the the quality and depth the squad had.

In surprising fashion, he was sacked by the owner as they had a difference in opinion and Acun Ilicali disliked Rosenior’s playing style, believing it wasn’t entertaining football.

It’s definitely a huge step up for Rosenior to take charge of Chelsea, compared to the other clubs he has managed.

While he is the leading candidate for the job, will he become the manager of a ‘Big Six’ club in the Premier League with Champions League football?
