Christmas Day passed and Boxing Day prepared for a full list of footballing action in the SkyBet Championship.

The first match kicked off midday at St Andrews as Birmingham City took on Derby County, two sides in mid-table.

The Blues drew with The Rams 1-1 with two red cards being involved as Joe Ward was sent off in the first half before Christoph Klarer was shown off the pitch in the 92nd minute.

Millwall and Ipswich Town had a rather anticlimactic game as the play-off contenders finished 0-0.

Stanley Mills was the hero of managerless Oxford United as his 89th minute strike gave them a 2-1 win over Southampton, pushing the home side out of the relegation zone.

Jimmy Dunne cancelled out Terry Devlin’s opener as Portsmouth drew 1-1 with Queens Park Rangers at Fratton Park.

Bristol City earned back-to-back victories with a 2-1 away triumphant against West Brom, placing The Robins in the top six at the halfway point.

Another play-off challenging matchup saw Stoke City draw 0-0 with Preston North End as the Lilywhites remain unbeaten in seven matches.

Middlesbrough ended their home fixture with Blackburn Rovers in a 0-0 draw with Hayden Hackney being a very lucky player not to be sent off for his rash challenge and heated contention with the opposition.

Watford came from behind to defeat Leicester City 2-1 at the King Power Stadium as Mattie Pollock scored his first goal of the season.

Coventry City extended their lead in the top of the table to eight points after securing a 1-0 victory over Swansea City.

Hull City were unable to continue their winning run as bottom of the league Sheffield Wednesday held on to draw 2-2 with The Tigers.

Jovon Makama scored the only goal in Norwich City’s 1-0 win over Charlton Athletic as The Canaries are just a point away from safety.

Finally, Wrexham came from 3-1 down to conquer Sheffield United 5-3 in what was the biggest goal fest on Boxing Day with Kieffer Moore and Patrick Bamford both bagging a brace.
