Carabao Cup action is bag in the midweek for the first time since late October as things are getting serious in the tournament.

Some surprise exits from the fourth round included Liverpool who suffered a 3-0 home defeat to Crystal Palace which was in the peak of their bad run of form.

The first quarter-final is on Tuesday Night as Cardiff City take on Chelsea as The Blue Birds host the tie in Wales.

Guardiola’s team are in fine form at the moment, winning their last five games in all competitions and scoring a total tally of 16 goals during that period of time.

Brentford have not been victorious in their last three matches, recently drawing 1-1 with Leeds United to extend their points gap from the relegation zone.

Man City defeated Swansea City 3-1 to proceed to the last eight, while Keith Andrews’ side pulled off a 5-0 away win against dark horses Grimsby Town.

The final game will be played on the following week which features a London derby between Arsenal and Crystal Palace.

The reason for this is because if Palace did play on Tuesday Night, they would’ve played three fixtures in the space of five days due to the Conference Ldeague.

The Gunners remain the league leaders of the Premier League after salvaging a late 2-1 win against bottom of the league Wolves.
