The biggest Darts tournament of the year kicked off on Thursday in the Alexandra Palace as players are hoping to stand out among the rest.

The higher you progress, the bigger you earn as the winner will not only receive the iconic trophy, but will be walking away with £1,000,000.

Especially at this time of the year, expect plenty of Christmassy walk-outs and shirts since we are in that period of the season.

With two days already completed, and fixtures still being played on Saturday, here is everyone who has progressed to the next round so far.

We started off with quite and upset in the first match as the #163 ranked Arno Merk knocked out Kim Huybrechts 3-1.

Lisa Ashton got the crowd going and did put up a fight against the former world champion, but Michael Smith was able to ease his way with three successful consecutive sets.

The favourite Luke Littler proceeded to the next round after beating Darius Labanauskas 3-0, despite it not being an easy path to victory.

Madars Razma knocked out 22-year-old Jamai van den Herik in a 3-1 win although it was a very close, contested matchup.

On Friday, Niels Zonneveld entered the next round after beating Haupai Puha 3-0.

Former World Championship semi-finalist Mervyn King was knocked out in a close game with Ian White as the Runcorn-born player won 3-2.

As expected, Ryan Searle moved on to the next round of the tournament after a rather comfortable 3-0 triumph over Chris Landman.

Rob Cross convincingly won against Cor Dekker, defeating the Norwegian 3-0 and possibly earning one of the best finishes in the round with a marvellous 170 checkout.

A huge shock happened on Friday evening when the #114 ranked Andreas Harryson eliminated the #12 ranked Ross Smith from the competition in what was a very back-and-forth game, winning 3-2.

Ricky Evans didn’t just shine with his walkout, but he also performed superbly after defeating Man Lok Leung 3-0.

Young prospect Gian van Veen has equalled his best position in the tournament after beating Carlos Reyes 3-1 as some believe he could feature in the last eight.

Finally, Damon Heta took home a 3-1 win against Steve Lennon to progress to the next round as he tries to become the first Australian to win the competition.
