Formula One had to wait until the last grand prix which took place in Abu Dhabi to decide who would win the 2025 championship.
It was a battle between Lando Norris, Max Vertsappen and Oscar Piastri as they were all rather close in the standings.
The Bristol-born racing driver just had to make sure he finished in the top three which meant he would secure the F1 title as Verstappen was hoping to claim another consecutive title.
The four-time F1 winner finished first to earn 25 points, behind him in second was Norris’ McLaren teammate Piastri before the Briton finished third to secure the title triumph.
Norris won seven races this season and earned 18 podiums which ultimately helped him achieve his dream.
It’s the first time in 17 years that a McLaren driver has won an F1 Drivers’ Championship as they claimed back-to-back Constructors’ Championships, increasing their tally to 10.
