The MMA community was left star-struck after two particular fights ended in surprise fashion at the APEX.

The main event of UFC Vegas 110, Steve Garcia vs David Onama, brought attention as both featherweight prospects aimed for a statement win.

Garcia defeated Onama by first-round TKO, extending his win streak to seven.

But, it seems that was not what took the headlines after two controversial moments in Vegas.

The first occasion happened between featherweights, Isaac Dulgarian and Yadier del Valle.

Originally, Dulgarian was a considerable favourite to win the fight, but that was changed just moments before the scheduled three-round bout begun.

The bookmakers suddenly made the 29-year-old a slight favourite and del Valle won in the first round by submission with a Rear-Naked Choke.

Dulgarian was released from the UFC no long after his loss, but gambling rumours are surrounding the aftermath of the fight.

The second moment happened in the co-main event between Waldo Cortes-Acosta and Ante Delija.

Delija’s team-mate, Tom Aspinall, suffered a no contest in the heavyweight title matchup with Ciryl Gane which left fans furious and speculating why he wouldn’t continue despite losing sight from an eye poke.

During the 265lbs clash, both men were swinging and trading punches until Delija accidentally poked the eye of Cortes-Acosta.

It was believed that the bout was stopped by Mark Smith for a TKO win to the Croatian, but that was not the case.

The stool was brought out for the Dominican to sit on while doctors treated his eye from the poke and when replays saw what happened, many thought it would end in a no contest.

It turns out, the fight was stopped for time, meaning the fight would continue if Cortes-Acosta gave the all-clear, despite the stool being brought out which is only used when a bout has finished.

Eventually, the heavyweight battle resumed and saw the #6 contender knock out Delija, 30 seconds from the restart in the first round.
