Enzo Maresca’s side pulled off a 4-3 away victory at the Molineux Stadium, taking them to the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup.

Andrey Santos, Tyrique George and Estevao gave the Blues a three-goal lead at half-time before Tolu Arokodare pulled a goal back early in the second half for Wolverhampton Wanderes.

Jamie Gittens’ 89th minute strike was an important fourth goal, keeping Chelsea’s lead, as he scored between David Moller Wolfe’s brace.

However, a reoccurring theme remains to be showcased as the away side received another sending off this season.

Liam Delap returned from injury and was substituted on the pitch in the 61st minute, hoping to place himself on the scoresheet in his comeback.

The former Ipswich Town and Hull City player received a booking in the 79th minute after pushing a player, which didn’t seem to be a big concern as the striker is often seen yellow cards.

But, with four minutes left until stoppage time, a moment of minimal discipline happened again for Chelsea as Delap fouled Emmanuel Agbadou to earn a second yellow and a red card.

It’s the fifth red card Chelsea have received in their last nine games, causing slight concern for Maresca.

Especially, after the two sending offs prior to this EFL Cup game as Joao Pedro’s red against Benfica in the Champions League and Malo Gusto’s red against Nottingham Forest in the Premier League were due to a lack of discipline.
