Once the international break was over, the Skybet Championship returned to action, providing all sorts of drama.

Week nine kicked off on Friday night when Middlesborough welcomed Ipswich Town at Riverside Stadium.

Rob Edwards’ side salvaged a 2-1 win to go top of the league, however, after Saturday’s results would move them down to second place.

Onto the next day, Southampton could only draw 0-0 with Swansea City, despite showing domination on the attack.

Stanley Mills scored the only goal of the game to give Oxford United a 1-0 victory over Derbu County, lifting them out of the relegation zone.

Despite only having five shots to Queens Park Rangers’ 20, Millwall were able to earn a 2-1 win away at Loftus Road.

In a fiery match at St Andrews, Hull City just managed to take advantage of 10-man Birmingham City, winning 3-2 after a horror performance from Jack Robinson.

Stoke City returned to winning ways after a 1-0 win against Wrexham, thanks to Sorba Thomas’ goal in the 36th minute.

Charlton Athletic claimed three valuable points at home to Sheffield Wednesday, winning 2-1 along with Ethan Horvath getting sent off in the 97th minute.

Sheffield United earned their second win of the season with Callum O’Hare scoring the only goal of the game in a 1-0 triumph against Watford.

Mark Sykes’ 73rd minute strike was enough for Bristol City to seal three points away to Norwich City with a 1-0 win.

Coventry City returned as the league leaders when they defeated Blackburn Rovers 2-0, still remaining unbeaten in the league.

West Brom held on against Preston North End to win 2-1 which included Michael Johnston scoring his first goal for The Baggies.

Finally, Leicester City were held to a 1-1 draw at the King Power Stadium as John Swift scored an important equaliser for Portsmouth.
