Vegas makes its return to hosting the biggest MMA organisation at the T-Mobile Arena with an incredibly stacked fight card.
The main event is a championship rematch between Magomed Ankalaev and Alex Pereira for the Light Heavyweight title.
In the co-headliner, Merabd Dvalishvili defends his Bantamweight belt for a third time, this time against the #4 contender, Cory Sandhagen.
However, there is one more huge matchup which has the potential of being a title eliminator, depending on the aftermath of the scheduled three-round bout.
Prochazka vs Rountree Jr could be for a future title shot
Jiri Prochazka and Khalil Rountree Jr square off in what may be one of the most exciting battles at UFC 320.
Both men are in the top five of the Light Heavyweight rankings and have redeemed themselves from an Alex Pereira title knockout loss in their last fight.
The Czech mixed martial artist fought in the first PPV event of the year, UFC 311, defeating Jamahal Hill by third-round TKO in an action-packed war.
‘The War Horse’ also defeated Hill in his last bout at UFC Baku, pulling off a very dominant display to win by unanimous decision.
This particular fight will determine who will be the #2 contender of the division as that’s where ‘BJP’ sits while Rountree Jr is ranked #4.
Carlos Ulberg, who is the #3 contender, on Saturday at UFC Perth’s headliner, knocking out Dominick Reyes in the first round.
‘The Black Jag’ is currently on a nine-fight win streak and has also defeated former champion, Jan Blachowicz, and former title challenger, Volkan Oezdemir.
But, after his title statement victory in Australia, does that guarantee him to fight for the undisputed belt in his next fight?
Likeliness of the situation
Although Rountree Jr has become a gradual fan-favourite, Prochazka has definitely brought a bigger fan base through the start of his UFC career.
The former 205-pound champion also has a much bigger following than Ulberg, which could mean that a big statement win from the Czech could put him in line next against the winner of UFC 320’s headliner.
However, the UFC would know that would be unfair on the New Zealand fighter, so it’s likely that the #3 contender will be next for the championship opportunity.
In all likelihood, the winner of Prochazka vs Rountree Jr will get the future title shot once Ulberg has fought for the title.
