The biggest football league in the world has always shown entertainment week in, week out.

However, this weekend’s fixtures have had one key thing in common, late goals.

From last-minute equalisers to victories, almost every game provided drama to steal the headlines.

Only Nottingham Forest vs Sunderland (0-1) and Aston Villa vs Fulham (3-1) had contained goals in normal time.

The first game of this week’s Premier League fixtures was dramatic throughout the game.

Brentford won 3-1 after Mathias Jensen’s 95th minute strike to seal the win in a very close game, putting Ruben Amorim’s job more at risk.

Not to forget that Bruno Fernandes had the chance to equalise from a penalty earlier on in the second half, but his spot kick was saved by Caiomhin Kelleher.

A triumph that the Bees will be delighted by as they claim their second league win of the season.

Leeds United were leading 2-1 against Bournemouth at Elland Road, pushing towards eighth in the table.

However, Eli Junior Kroupi saved Iraola’s side with 93rd minute equaliser to rescue the Cherries a point.

Trevoh Chalobah will be kicking himself after being sent off in the 53rd minute when Chelsea were 1-0 up, especially when Danny Welbeck put Brighton and Hove Albion on level terms.

But, Maxim Cuyper struck in the 92nd minute to steal three points before Welbeck earned himself a brace in the 100th minute.

While, it was no real drama, Manchester City did defeat Burnley 5-1 at the Etihad Stadium with Erling Haaland scoring a brace in the 90th minute.

The Norwegian equalled the own goals that Maxime Esteve scored, making it a very forgettable day for the Frenchman.

Federico Chiesa thought he rescued Liverpool a point after scoring in the 87th minute, keeping The Reds’ undefeated league record.

However, Eddie Nketiah gave a surprise at Selhurst Park, netting in a 97th minute winner to The Eagles three massive points.

The evening kick off saw Wolves look to cruise their way to victory after Santiago Bueno took the lead in the 54th minute.

Yet, Tottenham Hotspur were able to give the crowd something to cheer about in the 94th minute as Joao Palhinha became the unlikely hero from his brilliant late strike.

In today’s fixture, Arsenal were 1-0 down at St James Park with Newcastle United almost in sight of their second league win of the season.

However, Mikel Merino equalised in the 84th minute before a 96th minute from Gabriel gave unreal limbs to the away side as the Gunners snatched three points.

Everton are still to play against West Ham United on Monday night at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, and judging by what’s happened in this week’s chaotic matchups, more late drama could occur in Merseyside.
