Sheffield United have reappointed former manager Chris Wilder, after parting company with Wilder’s replacement in the summer, Ruben Selles. Spaniard Selles, who had respectable spells with Hull and Reading (but not spectacular), was a surprise choice to replace the popular Yorkshire man.
Wilder, 57, who is a boyhood Blades fan, has, of course, played for the club as well as managing them on three separate occasions.
The vastly experienced Wilder has a job on his hands. Arguably, confidence in the Sheffield United players is shot, especially after the emphatic defeat to Ipswich in last week’s EFL game.
