While Crossover Boxing is still taking time to become like by Combat Sports fans, there were some fascinating moments to take away from the Misfits Boxing fight card in Manchester.
The event took place at the AO Arena with former UFC fighters, Darren Till and Luke Rockhold being the headliner in a six-round Bridgerweight bout.
In the prelims, Demi Sims, J’Hon Ingram, Carla Jade, Amir Anderson, and Rahim Pardesi were all victorious.
A controversial win from Chase Demoor and a split decision triumph from Ty Mitchell started off the main card, but the last four fights were the eye-catchers for spectators.
Former TOWIE star shines on Boxing debut
Joey Essex went toe-to-toe with Porteguese influencer, Numeiro, in a four-round fight.
The TV personality was motivated for this particular boxing match having some experience and background in the sport.
During the battle, the 35-year-old did stun Numeiro with some powerful shots, however he did tire himself out which almost lost him the fight.
However, as the scores were read aloud, Essex succeeded on his Misfits debut, winning by majority decision. He even got praise from current professional boxer, Conor Benn.
Hated MMA fighter triumphs on first Misfits MMA bout
Dillon Danis has been nothing but a troll with Misfits Boxing, showing entertainment as well as disappointment to the company.
However, in Misfits first-ever MMA fight, he did deliver quite an astonishing win against Warren Spencer.
It took just 15 seconds for Danis to lock in a Guillotine Choke, mounting Spencer before making him tap.
The undefeated mixed martial artist is looking forward to returning to Misfits for another MMA bout and fancies challenging KSI or Eddie Hall.
The wait is finally over for El Cucuy
Tony Ferguson faced Salt Papi in the co-main event of Misfits Boxing 22, searching for some long-awaited redemption.
The former Interim UFC Lightweight Champion was on an eight-fight win streak in MMA and had not tasted victory since June 2019.
The 41-year-old managed to stop the experienced Misfits boxer by third-round TKO, despite the stoppage being very early.
Regardless, the fans were pleased to see that Ferguson had finally won, and the Californian was nothing but emotional after being triumphant in his first professional boxing match.
Till earns stunning KO against former UFC Middleweight Champion
The closer the main event was, the more anticipating it would be as Till and Rockhold’s rivalry became more heated.
‘The Gorilla’ was making his third appearance for Misfits, while the American was making his Boxing debut.
Remarkably, the Liverpudlian outclassed Rockhold, knocking him down in the first round before sparking him clean out in the third round.
It was nothing but an impressive win for Till who hopes to continue his Boxing career as he did call out Carl Froch.
