The Premier League season is barely three games in, and already there’s plenty to talk about. From Manchester United’s decline to Manchester City not being infallible, but it’s their on-loan winger, Jack Grealish, that I want to talk about in particular.

Former Aston Villa captain Grealish was once the British transfer record holder when then-champions City signed Jack Grealish for £100 million. Early doors, the forward struggled to life in Manchester. In fact, in his debut season, the Villa youth product was used sparingly.

From then on, Jack Grealish got into the team and made one of the wide positions his own. The former Notts County loanee was really in his element at this point; the 30-year-old had helped Manchester City to a historic treble.

With Pep signing Savinho, a wide-forward from Troyes, you knew the end was becoming nigh for Grealish. An escape route was needed for Jack Grealish and maybe Man City, too.

Up step Everton, who, after sending Jack Harrison back to Leeds, needed a winger. This move for the 29-year-old is needed to help revive a career that’s stuttered for the past couple of seasons.

David Moyes, when talking about the move, was bullish and had every confidence that he was going to be able to get the former Republic of Ireland international to fall form.

In the first two games that he’s started, it couldn’t have gone much better for him. Grealish has four assists in two games, which led to a jokey comparison to Kevin De Bruyne by Erling Haaland.

Early doors, but if Jack Grealish keeps this up, the usual top assist maker in the Premier League will see his assist record end.
