Good evening, I hope you’re doing well and staying healthy. We’ve reached a pivotal moment in the season-the closing of the transfer window. It’s a time of high drama, where grown men can sometimes act like children, throwing their dummies out.

This year, there have been three instances of this happening. Victor Gykores when at Sporting Lisbon, made it clear that he wasn’t going to play for the club again.

Relations were threatening to get to breaking point point between club and player, if they weren’t already. In this instance, it was a happily ever after for everyone.

Sporting got a good price for a player they paid Coventry £15 million for and Arsenal, after years of searching have their hands on what appears to be an elite number nine.

Victor Gykores, the Swede who has played for several clubs in England, is yet to make his mark at the Premier League level. The question of his success remains unanswered, but there’s a glimmer of hope that he might just be the one striker Arsenal have been looking for.

Another example is Alexander Isak, a fellow Swede, who after excelling with Newcastle and helping them get back into the Champions League, isn’t being granted his move to Liverpool, which reportedly was set in as a gentleman’s agreement to happen, a term used in football to describe a verbal agreement between clubs or players that is not legally binding but is considered a matter of honor.

Unlike Gykores, Isak might have to do some convincing. Despite Liverpool’s financial stability, his move to the club seems uncertain. Ask Daniel Levy, and he might tell you that agreements in football don’t always hold.

Especially with the signings of Giovanni Leoni, as highly-rated centre-back who eats Romelu Lukaku up for breakfast, apparently. To compliment Leoni, Marc Guehi of Crystal Palace is said to be targeted too, these signings could potentially affect Liverpool’s transfer budget and their ability to sign Isak.
So, Isak going to Liverpool, it’s highly doubtful.

The last person to make our list is Yann Wissa of Brentford, the 28-year-old forward who after having an impressive season with The Bees, is furious he isn’t allowed to leave.

Tottenham have been credited with an interest, but the man himself wants Newcastle, who want him too, but not for £60 million.

Something has to give in this one, Brentford are potentially losing money, and well, Wissa can get his head down, leave the following season a hero.
Professional footballers, hey, apparently it’s all a bed of roses in their job.
