On Saturday night, Pac Man made his return to Boxing to challenge Mario Barrios for the WBC World Welterweight title in Las Vegas.
The 46-year old went the full 12 rounds, showing he still has what it takes, with the champion as fans were rooting for the Filipino.
However, spectators were not shocked based off the performance, but the result of the fight as the bout ended in a majority draw.
Both Tim Cheatham and Steve Weisfield scored the fight 114-114, while Max DeLuca had it 115-113 to Barrios.
It was clear that the crowd were not impressed with the decision as boos echoed around the Grand Garden Arena when the draw result was announced.
In the 12-round battle, Barrios had thrown and landed more punches as his jab was very active and effective.
While, Pacquiao landed less jabs, he certainly landed more power punches, having a total of 81 compared to the American’s 75.
The Kibawe-born boxer was frustrated with his loss, but he is still believes he can become champion again after his performance.
For Barrios, it’s his second consecutive draw after his previous fight ended in a split draw against Abel Ramos as he is yet to have made a triumphant world title defence.
This means that there could just be a rematch between the two Welterweight stars as fans will be demanding for the Pac Man to get another opportunity.
