I am not one who believes in coincidences, let’s say, but there’s surely something in this name, Kyle Walker.

It’s not all Kyle Walkers, but it can be said about two of the three that I know of, and that is that they’re not great relationships. Of course, I will explain.

The Manchester City supporting Sky Sports journalist isn’t the topic of mention here, so let’s clear that up.

Sports fans, I am mentioning Burnley’s new full-back, Kyle Walker, and West Ham’s new full-back, Kyle Walker-Peters.

I don’t know what it is about defenders, but a certain youth-team coach of a West London club comes to mind. Walker, however, has been notorious for being something of a ‘ladies man’, which, if you ask the defender’s wife, could be an oxymoron.

It depends how you use the word of course.

Some people who are aware of the defenders’ goings-on off the pitch think he is a moron. Each to their own. The ex-Manchester City’s nearly namesake, Walker-Peters, has had some relationship turmoil in the footballing sense.

The former Tottenham and Southampton man, after leaving The Saints, was set to sign for Besiktas, but the full-back never truly committed. When he found out about West Ham’s interest, he broke off the football marriage and left the Turkish giants at the altar to join The Hammers.

There must be something in the name; is that what makes them not the best, shall we say, in relationships?
