Hello, good evening, sports fans. I hope you’re well and in good health. We need to talk about an issue that’s important in the world of football, to be more precise, about AFC Bournemouth and Bayer Leverkusen.
It was a strange combination from the outset, but these two teams have some things in common, and no, the playing kit isn’t one of them, nor is the fact that they had a Spanish manager in charge of them.
The commonality between these two teams is that the rest of Europe is raiding them for their talent. With Leverkusen, they have lost Jerome Frimpong and Florian Wirtz to Premier League champions Liverpool.
The former Bundesliga champions also lost their manager, Xabi Alonso, to Real Madrid. Los Blancos haven’t stopped there with talent poaching. Dean Huijsen has been signed from Bournemouth, with several other departures highly likely.
Kepa has left for Arsenal. It seems Antoine Semenyo, Justin Kluivert, and Milos Kerkez are next for sale. The Hungarian seems almost inevitable to be moving to Liverpool; it’s one of those poorly kept secrets. This summer, I don’t know who is worse, Liverpool or Real.
They’re both trying to outdo each other in this department. Let’s not forget to mention that Ilya Zabarnyi has been attracting interest from PSG. You pluck Cherries from the cherry tree, and football clubs are plucking their talent away in front of their very eyes.
When Real plucked from Liverpool, the feeling was hostile. After an impressive 9th position last term, The Cherries will need to sign a left-back, two centre-backs, and a left-winger.
That might be a challenge for other teams, but for Bournemouth, they will have the cash.
It looks like they will have to do some raiding on their own.
