Chelsea keeper Kepa Arrizabalaga is on the verge of joining Premier League rivals Arsenal in a cut-price £5 million deal. Once a world-record transfer for a goalkeeper, Kepa joins The Gunners from London rivals Chelsea on the back of a good loan spell with Bournemouth last term.

After signing from Athletico Bilbao for a world record £72 Million fee for a goalkeeper, much was expected from the Spaniard shot-stopper. Still, sadly for the club and player, Kep was only able to produce quality moments sporadically in West London.

Two loan spells followed. One was with 14-time Champions League winners Real Madrid, where, to be fair, the 30-year-old did okay. However, when normal number one Thibaut Courtois returned, the Spaniard was left to head back to Chelsea.

Another loan move followed, this time at Premier League rivals Bournemouth. Here at the Vitality Stadium, Kepa recaptured some of the form that convinced Chelsea to part with cash, a world record for a goalkeeper.

Despite an encouraging time in the South Coast, The Cherries didn’t make the move permanent.

With news that Arsenal have tabled a bid and look set to complete the signing of the Spaniard, this continues the trend of players moving between these two clubs.

Or having played for both clubs. Ashley Cole, Cesc Fabregas, Olivier Giroud, Nicholas Anelka, William Gallas and Petr Cech are just some players who have played for both in recent times.

The move for Kepa, which should be completed soon, will result in a £67 million loss for The Blues.
