Croatia and Real Madrid legend Luka Modric has announced he will leave the club upon the conclusion of The Club World Cup. Modric, formerly of Tottenham has won everything that there is to be won in Spain and has played under some iconic managers at the Bernabeu.
Since joining in 2012, the 39-year-old has won a staggering 28 trophies, which includes six European Champions League titles, four La Liga titles and two Copa Del Rey trophies.
Maybe small in height, but Modric on the pitch was giant in stature. For a club that prides itself on signing Galactico’s, Luka Modric signing from Tottenham in 2012 for a fee of £30 million, is arguably one of the best bits of business that president Florentino Perez has ever done.
Real Madrid have expertly done this in the past, but now they need to replace the Croatian midfield maestro. Alexis McAllister of Liverpool and Enzo Fernandez of Chelsea are some of the names mentioned as possible replacements for the legendary Croat.
