After impressively sweeping aside West Indies in the first test, Pakistan’s cricketers were blown away by the spin trio of Jomel Warrican, who finished with match figures of 9-70. Kevin Sinclair and Gudakesh Motie made telling contributions, too.
For a pitch that was supposed to favour the home side, Pakistan’s batsmen played some unforgivable shots, Mohammed Huraira being one of the biggest culprits. Still, credit must be given to Worrican, who was menacing when he had the ball in hand.
Jomel Worrican also impressively contributed with the bat, but with the ball, Pakistan’s senior batsmen had no answer to him. In the two-match series, he finished as the leading wicket-taker.
Chasing 253 for back-to-back test wins, Pakistan fell short as they ended up 133 all out. Babar Azam (31) top-scored for the hosts, and Mohammed Rizwan (25) was the second-highest scorer, but no batsmen really put their hand up after that.
Now Pakistan will prepare to defend the Champions Trophy they won in England.
