Stand-in captain Liam Livingstone hit a superb 124 to help England level the three-game series 1-1 after they won the second game by five wickets. Having won the toss, visiting captain Livingstone put the home side in.
That initially seemed like a good decision as Brandon King (7) and Evin Lewis (4) both fell cheaply off the bowling of John Turner, who took his first two ODI wickets in the process.
They were mistaken when England might have thought they were in for a leisurely afternoon. Keacy Carty (71) and Shai Hope (117) combined to put on 143 for the third wicket.
This superb stand helped set the foundation for Sherfane Rutherford (54 off 36), Shimron Hetmyer (24 off 11), and Matthew Forde (23 off 11) to express themselves.
That allowed the home side to put a competitive 328-6 in their 50 overs. In reply, England got off to a decent start, but that was briefly halted when England lost Will Jacks for just 12. Jordon Cox (4) fell not too long after, and The Three Lions had some work to do with the score at 63-2.
If some in the England camp were worried, they needed not to, as Sam Curran (57), Phil Salt (59), and Jake Bethell (55) helped their captain, Liam Livingstone, who hit a sparkling 124 off just 85 balls.
The tourists impressively chased down their target with 15 balls left. England’s West Indies tour moves to the Kensington Oval next for the decider on Wednesday, October 6th.
