A late John Stones goal meant that Champions Man City and last year’s runners-up Arsenal had to settle for a share of the points in yesterday’s Premier League match-up.

Erling Haaland (who else?) put the champions in front, but visitors Arsenal roared back with two goals and looked set for a rare away win at the Etihad. Those hopes were scuppered when Gunners forward Leandro Trossard quickly received two needless yellow cards.

That forced Arsenal to go even deeper and into survival mode. Arteta’s side were a goal up and looking to maintain a slender lead, but the pressure eventually told, and City defender Stones was able to turn home amidst a scramble.

Is this a point gained for City or two dropped? After all, the champions had 11 men, and Arsenal went down to 10. It appears to be seen that there’s still plenty of football left to play.
