After what seemed like a minor eternity, the football Premier League season is back! From matches such as Ipswich vs Liverpool and Chelsea vs Man City, there was a game for everyone.

Unsurprisingly some may say, both of these games went true to form. Manchester City thanks to goals from Erling Haaland and Matteo Kovacic will go back to Manchester with three points and an opening day win, as will Liverpool who were playing their first competitive game under Arne Slot.

City’s rivals Man United, who opened up the Premier League campaign against Fulham, were reliant on their debutant Joshua Zirkzee, who came off the bench to fire the only goal in the game.

Potential title rivals to Manchester City Arsenal won 2-0 against Wolves. Goals from Kai Havertz and Bukayo Saka put this game out of reach for the visitors Wolves.

Newcastle and Aston Villa were winners on the opening match day against Southampton and West Ham respectively. Bournemouth who sold star striker Dom Solanke to Tottenham, drew 1-1 with Nottingham Forest.
