From being one of the most proactive in the transfer market, Liverpool have become the least active in the market as they’re the only team in this transfer market to make a signing.
As the old saying goes though, ‘if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it’. This Liverpool doesn’t need too much fixing I argue. Of course, Tiago Alcantara has retired and a player of this class needs replacing, or as close to replacing as possible.
The former Barca and Bayern man was in a class of his own on his day. Since Tiago announced his retirement, Liverpool have been linked with every number six in world football it seems.
From Martin Zubimendi to Ederson of Atalanta, just to name some. In my humble opinion, Sander Berge of Burnley should be considered as The Clarets will need to balance the books after relegation.
Arch-rivals Manchester United were said to be in for the former Sheffield United man, but their obsession with PSG’s Manuel Ugarte seems to be the reason why United are stalling on a move for the Norwegian Berge.
Yusuf Fofana or Denis Zakaria of Monaco should be considered too, as well as Joshua Kimmich. Bayern Munich star Kimmich is arguably one of the best in his position, but having fallen out of favour last season and The Bavarian’s signing Paulinha, then maybe Joshua Kimmich should weigh up his options.
Liverpool do have some good players in the position currently in the form of Stefan Bjacetic and Endo, but new signings freshen up a squad.
