If I told you that Aston Villa and Chelsea are mirroring each other, you might find it hard to believe, but let me explain. Football fans, Chelsea have been infamous for bringing back old faces.

What do I mean? Well, where do I start? Jose has come back as manager after initially resigning. Gus Hiddink seemed to be on stand-by always to be a caretaker-manager at one point, then there’s the players.

Nemanja Matic, Romelu Lukaku and David Luiz are just some of the players and now Aston Villa seem to be following suit. The difference is that they’re not shedding a small fortune to bring their old stars back to the club.

Ross Barkley, Cameron Archer and Jaden Philogene have come back to the club after initially leaving. Unlike Chelsea, in the case of Philogene, not only did they get a good player for a good price, but they also got some money back due to a sell-on clause.

Former Everton player and Villain Barkley was an absolute steal at £5 million and he looks back to his best too.
