Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich have signed Crystal Palace attacker Michael Olise. Ollise, formerly of Reading, was heavily linked with Chelsea and Manchester United, but the English-born Frenchman has opted to join Vincent Kompany’s side.
In what’s going to be a summer of upheaval for The Bavarians, new signings are going to be needed. Last year Bayer Leverkusen ended Bayern’s 12-year title reign after they went through the season unbeaten.
There was no way that Bayern Munich couldn’t react. Olise, who was formerly of Reading and will be playing in the Olympics for France, will be joined by Joao Paulinha, who has signed from Fulham.
The 28-year-old did come close to joining in January. Will Bayern’s signings will work? The jury will naturally be out, but with such an expensive outlay on new signings, Bayern’s first team will be up for sale.
One such player, Matthijs de Ligt. There are potential bargains for rival clubs as they need to sell players.
