Hello, good morning sports fans, I hope you’re well, looking after yourselves and are in good health. We need to talk, about sports and in particular football. So, as you know the Euro 2024 Championships are currently underway.

In this edition of the tournament, there have been 24 teams as opposed to the 16, that football fans of the Euros have been accustomed to. After a bright start to the tournament where hosts Germany beat Scotland 5-1, entertainment at Germany 24 has been at a premium.

England and France who have been seen as two of the favourites, have both failed to impress, but are still through to the last four. In England’s semi-final, they will go up against Ronald Koeman’s Holland.

Didier Deschamps’ France will take on in-form Spain. The way the draw has fallen, it has fallen to some form of irony. The best teams in the tournament have been separated from each other.

Without trying to be too biased, I think Holland will face France in the final. I have had a soft spot for De Oranje, ever since the 1998 World Cup in France.

It’s fair to say this tournament has served up some dire football, but with the semi-final games promising to be at least good on paper, I live in hope that things might change.
