South Africa continued their flawless campaign with an emphatic nine-wicket win in the first semi-final, which books their place in Saturday’s final of the T20 World Cup.

Winning the toss Afghanistan captain Rashid Khan batted first and, quite frankly the decision turned out to be a doomed one. The Afghans were superb against Australia and Bangladesh, were blown away by The Proteas’ attack.

Tabraiz Shamsi (3-6), Kagiso Rabada (2-14), Anrich Nortje (2-7) and Marco Jansen (3-16) were the reason why the usually destructive batting line-up that is Afghanistan could only make 56 all out.

Azmatullah Omarzai, (10), the only man to make double figures. So South Africa needed just 57 to reach their very first T20 World Cup final. Despite the early loss of Quinton de Kock (5), it was left to skipper Aiden Markram (23 not out ) and Reza Hendricks (29, to see them home.
Up next for Markram’s men, it will be India or England.
